Scottish wine, leap years and Courtney Cox not understanding Neil Atkinson are the order of the day for The Rider. You know how these things tend to work by now. Taff to take for Liverpool at Swansea as they ended their unbeaten run in South Wales. Was it a bad approach from Klopp and his players or more likely just "one of them"? Did anyone play well? Is it too easy to forget that Liverpool had chances at 0-0 to open the scoring? In general though these have been the games Liverpool have been struggling in. Is there something underlying in that? Neil Atkinson hosts as Ian Salmon, Andy Heaton and Rob Gutmann chat through the game and this sho...more

Liverpool have yet again thrown points away from a winning position. What should Jurgen Klopp be doing about this? What could the consequences be? Who should start in goal? Guto Llewelyn joins us on the phone; Steve Graves, Stu Wright and John Gibbons are all in the studio. It's The Anfield Wrap. Have ...more
It's the Christmas edition of The Rider and as such there is lots of talk of little drinks, nights out and decorations. There are festive tunes. There is John's Spotify hacker. And there are songs of the year of sorts. Neil Atkinson hosts somewhat chaotically with John Gibbons, Stephanie Heneghan and Adam Melia all cutting loose and feeling frisky. It's the perfect tonic to Christmas shopping and the stresses of the season. And the songs are good. Thanks for listening.
The Anfield Wrap this week takes a long look at Liverpool's fantastic 0-4 win at Bournemouth and dwell on the sheer quality of that front three. Post derby despair for the Reds off the back of a 1-1 defeat against an Everton side so negative it would make Moyes blush. Joining Neil Atkinson for this week’s big show to trawl through a frustrating evening under a snow lit Anfield are Andy Heaton, Gareth Roberts, Paul Senior and Rob Gutmann. Has the sucker punch penalty decision coloured a display that was broadly fine, or where Liverpool to blame for allowing the Blues to claim the most undeserved point.
Seven against Spartak. What about Everton? One of the things about a big win is that it concentrates the mind on the next game. You just want to see Liverpool play and win again. That goes double when the next game is the Derby. Talking about Everton we have Dave Downie from the Blue Room. Looking at the Liverpool week and the squad we have John Gibbons and Adam Smith. Holding it together in the middle is Neil Atkinson. It's The Anfield Wrap on Citytalk at its best.
A cast of thousands as Stephanie Heneghan has been inviting whoever she likes to this week's Rider. Therefore the usual suspects are joined by Joe Connolly and Rob Gutmann. She's also playing newcomers Frankie Goes To Hollywood. This is very much The Rider with its hair down but reapplying its make up before the big Christmas push. Neil Atkinson hosts, John Gibbons and Adam Melia are also in attendance and it is a barrel of laughs.
While we completely understandably obsess over the top of the Premier League up and down the country football clubs are going through their own trials and tribulations. One was brought to The Anfield Wrap's attention on Monday night when the excellent Amber Nectar podcast beat TAW to the honour of winning the best club podcast award. In their acceptance speech they mentioned the ongoing issues with the Allam ownership. We wanted to discuss that and so on this Midnight Caller Neil Atkinson ...more

A rotated and frustrated evening at Anfield gets a long look from The Anfield Wrap. The selection and the substitutions get examined in depth and at length. It's as much a conversation about Sevilla and Stoke as it is about Chelsea, though everyone was very impressed with the display from the Champions. Neil Atkinson hosts Dan Austin, Melissa Reddy and Rob Gutmann as they pick the bones out of that.
Here we go again as the Chelsea game has emerged into view this week on Citytalk. The focus has been Sevilla given the nature of Liverpool's collapse and yet this is an enormous game for Liverpool's season. They also take a look ahead to Sevilla and how Jurgen Klopp may approach that game.
The Anfield Wrap on Radio Citytalk this week is all excited about Liverpool returning to action after the international break. What can we expect? What will we see? We've Heather Carroll updating us on the Ladies's progress too and an appeal for donations for a campaign around Hillsborough Law.
It's ridiculous they let us do this. The Rider this week is quorate. Stephanie Heneghan is back and she is no longer unwell. She is, in fact, well. Very well. More within. Neil Atkinson and John Gibbons have been to Berlin and are back to tell the tale. Has Adam climbed anything? I mean this all seems rather mundane but it's pretty much the most riotous 80 minutes of podcasting you can get. THRILL at John supporting Mary Beard. STAGGER at Steph's chest infection. Two current Liverpudlian anniversaries dominate this week's Anfield Wrap. The first is that Sunday 8th October marked the end of the second year of Jurgen Klopp as Liverpool manager. Another weekend ruined as Liverpool contrive once again to throw away a win with a painfully lacklustre and all to familiar display at St James Park. Joining Neil Atkinson to pull on all the threads are Gareth Roberts, Mike Nevin and Melissa Reddy.

Or just demonstrative of the balancing act referees have to go through? And what ...more

This week, The Rider is being recorded in a different space and at a new time. But we've still got ten great songs and plenty of chat in between. Neil Atkinson, John Gibbons, Adam Melia and Stephanie Heneghan chat mad things you can buy from adverts on day time TV, bank holiday weekends, Taylor Swift's new video and ticket selling policy and catholic christenings.

The remainder sees Neil Atkinson joined by John Gibbons, Stephanie Heneghan and Adam Melia, and the four of them play 10 fantastic slices of new music. Can't argue with it.
With the transfer window closed, club's up and down the country will be assessing what they've got, how they did and what they could have done better. Rob Gutmann was joined by Paul Senior, John Milburn and Josh Sexton to look at how Liverpool did on those fronts, and compare their business to that of their rivals.
With the transfer window now shut, just how did Liverpool do in the market? Some massive positives as well as some crushing negatives, but in the final analysis, are Liverpool equipped to cope and how did they do against their immediate rivals? Joining John Gibbons for this week's Radio City Talk Show are Ian Ryan, Adam Smith and Paul Senior to chew the transfer fat. John also talks to Musicians Against Homelessness organiser Mark Ainsworth in part two of the show.
A fantastic Liverpool performance against Arsenal has, in the eyes of the mainstream media become a story about Arsenal rather than one about the Mighty Reds. Not on The Anfield Wrap.
